Somerset Residence selected for Passive House International - US |PHIUS Climate-Specific pilot program

Date Occurred: 14 1106?   Anderson Sustainable Architecture designed the Somerset Residence which was selected for the Passive House International - US |PHIUS Climate-Specific pilot program, PHIUS+. The new climate-specific protocol is based on a design optimization study developed for a hundred cities and climates across the US. The optimization study included local: climate, construction material and labor costs, energy costs, renewable energy rebates and finance costs. The resultant PHIUS+ climate-specific computer modeling metrics optimizes a buildings insulation investment and indicates where further investment is optimized when applied to renewable energy systems. With the Passive House quality assurance programs of third party PHIUS review of the architect's design and energy modeling, PHIUS+ Rater's field testing and review of construction, and the building's performance, owners have the rare building industry opportunity to confirm the value of their building investment.
