Date Occurred: 17 0310 Recieved energy code compliance updates from Fresh Energy Residential, Multifamily and Commercial Subcommittees. The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) presented Midwest Compliance Studies for the state of Kentucky. A similar study will begin for Minnesota. A Tiny Houses presentation described their design, construction and code issues. As well, we had a collaborative discussion on best practices for improving construction energy code compliance. We also discussed licensing mechanical residential contractors to improve installation quality, improve energy efficiency, save energy and decrease construction costs from over-sized HVAC systems. This meeting is ongoing work of the Minnesota Energy Code Compliance Collaborative (MEECC).
